Founded in 1954, just three years before Malaysia earned her independence from the British colonial, the 1st Kuala Lumpur Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade Companies pledged to impact the lives of young people – building character, training leadership, and placing the foundations for lifelong friendships.

In the past 60 years, the Brigades have reached out to thousands of Boys and Girls, all of whom are literally found around the world today, and would happily attest that some of their fondest memories were during their times with the Brigades.

To celebrate and account for God’s blessings on our ministries, the 1st KL BB and GB Companies have joined hands in joyful spirit and organized a series of exciting, jubilant activities for all members and friends of the Brigades. Our 60th Diamond Jubilee celebration features a great line-up of events:

Combined Enrolment Parade and Service, Apr. 27, 8am (parade); 9am (service)
An annual tradition since founding, the Enrolment Service is an integral part of any Brigadiers’ life. Come join us as we give thanks and rededicate our membership to KL Wesley Methodist Church, and celebrate the richness of our ministries.

60th Anniversary Mystery Mission Trip, December
We will collaborate with the Boys’ & Girls’ Brigade in the predetermined country (we are keeping this a mystery to our members to spice things up) to reach out to children and youth in community homes and evangelistic centers. This mission trip will be a keyturning and educational experience for our members as they learn to serve the less privileged through games, devotions, teachings, and fellowship.

60th Anniversary Concert & Dinner, December
We can’t wrap up the celebration without hosting a dinner to treat all of our members, past and present, as well as parents, friends, and supporters of the Brigade to a night of celebratory music and scrumptious dinner.

With these, we celebrate the past 60 years of impact and God’s faithfulness. But more than that, we also look forward with anticipation to the next 60 years, looking to the Light of Christ and the Anchor of our souls, for the great adventure that awaits as we go forth and shine, reflecting God’s glory and of our time in the Brigades.

In return, we will do up a plague where the entire donor’s name will be listed and mounted on our special Anniversary Wall of Fame showcase cabinet.
