The 1st Kuala Lumpur Boys’ Brigade had a 3-day, 2-night band camp on the 30th May to 1st June. The camp was planned to prepare Boys for the upcoming indoor band festival. Besides the band training, classes and games were prepared for Boys to chill out and relax after a long day of practice. The Boys had a great time during these sessions. The following are their testimonials.
PTE Wong Qi Jie:
A few days ago, Mr. Terence Yap gave us a workshop on the BBVA (Boys’ Brigade Video Awards) day. I felt excited about it. Mr. Terence asked us to make a video about Father’s Day. He gave us a lot of ideas and advice. He even showed us a lot of other advertisements and videos.
After that, we sat together in our squads to discuss our video that we’re planning to make. Although we don’t have enough time to discuss the details, we managed to get a lot of ideas from everyone.
Then, Mr. Terence continued his speech. He taught us about the music, things we needed and the camera position. Besides that, he also taught us about video editing, which he then asked Mr. Derek Chan to teach us how to use Windows Movie Maker.
Mr. Derek Chan was an expert in editing video! He made his own video and showed it to us. I think everyone is excited and interested about it too! I wish our movie will be taken well and so do everyone’s.
PTE Steven Wong:
On 1st June, which is the last day of the band camp, we had a game session before dismissal. We had our game at concourse. We had water game. Everyone was very excited to play the game.
We were asked to be barefoot and when we walk on the tiles our feet was like on fire. Our goal was to complete the water game and beat the committee record. The team was competing with each other to try breaking the record set by the committee members. One of the team was the Officers team.
From start, everyone was very excited to get a water balloon to throw at someone. The most interesting part was when it was the Officers’ turn because the band committee let everyone you have a water balloon to throw at the officer. Everyone was very excited to throw the balloon at the Officers (Officer’s note: oh, Boys will always be Boys).
However, the officer took the chance to revenge when we were fall in. In the end, everyone enjoyed the game.
